At DRAH, we require it for any patient over the age of 8, but it is optional for younger patients.
To encourage owners to take advantage of this valuable service ,we are offering a discount on pre-anesthetic blood work for patients under 8 for the entire month of June. Our pre-anesthetic screen for younger patients will now be offered for $ 60 ( normally $73).
Please call or stop by if you have any additional questions!

Dear Pet Owners,
It is with mixed feelings that I am announcing my retirement from veterinary medicine at the end of this year. I recently finished my 28th year as a practicing veterinarian. While I’ve enjoyed my profession tremendously, I find myself deeply exhausted and less able to “roll with the punches” that are an inevitable part of daily practice.
I’m looking forward to focusing on other aspects of my life that I’ve ignored for too long. (I’ve got a “honey-do list” that you wouldn’t believe!)
I want to accomplish some goals that I’ve put off for too long and to spend more time with my family – both the 2-legged and 4-legged ones.
That said, I can’t tell you how much I’ll miss everyone: the staff, the owners and, most of all, the animals. I’ve been unbelievably lucky to work with so many fine people and animals over the years! I genuinely believe that having pets brings out the best in people. In a world with so much trouble and strife, it restores my faith in humanity to watch the unconditional love between animals and humans. It truly enriches us, and I’ve been blessed to be involved in that bond on a daily basis.
I’m off to sleep in a sunbeam and chase a ball or two (as soon as I finish that list). Thank you for all the wonderful memories,
Peter Farrell, DVM
